We are looking for a Streets & Grounds Operative to join our clients Environmental Services team located in Petersfield
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, keeping active and seeing the results of their work. You'll be part of a team responsible for maintaining streets, green spaces and public areas, helping to keep the local environment clean, tidy and looking its best.
No two days are the same, with a variety of practical tasks carried out across different locations.
What you'll be doing
- Cutting and maintaining grass and lawns.
- Hedge trimming and general vegetation maintenance.
- Keeping streets, pathways and public areas clean and tidy.
- Carrying out general grounds and environmental maintenance.
- Using hand tools and grounds maintenance equipment.
- Driving company vehicles to different locations.
- Loading and transporting equipment when required.
- Carrying out basic vehicle and equipment checks.
- Working safely and following company procedures.
- Working as part of a team while also being able to work independently.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who is reliable, practical and takes pride in their work.
You'll need to be:
- A confident driver with a suitable driving licence.
- Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work.
- Happy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- A good team player with a positive attitude.
- Practical and willing to learn new skills.
- Someone who takes pride in keeping public areas clean and well maintained.
Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, gardening, street cleansing or environmental services is an advantage, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
Hours - 7am to 3pm - Monday to Friday
Pay - £12.71 per hour
