Amour Recruitment is delighted to partner with our wonderful long time client to recruit for a Transport Planner, in Nursling, Southampton.

As a Transport Planner, you will oversee the coordination and management of daily deliveries and collections, ensuring efficient fleet operations across the UK. This involves liaising closely with drivers, customers, and colleagues to uphold the highest standards of service and compliance within a busy transport environment.

Your expertise will be instrumental in planning routes, managing container movements, and ensuring adherence to all relevant legislation, including the Working Time Directive. You will utilise specialised Transport Management System software to streamline operations and support the wider team in delivering service excellence. This role is perfectly suited to someone proactive, organised, and motivated to thrive in a fast-paced setting, with a keen eye for detail and a strong customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and Route deliveries across the UK.
  • Ensure compliance across transport legislation and Working Time Directive.
  • Liaise with stakeholder to ensure service standards.
  • Manage driver hours, trailer rotation and general fleet management.

 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in transport planning or a back-office transport role
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the UK
  • Experience in planning container or groupage loads
  • Knowledge of VBS booking system and Container Exec (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Good IT skills, including experience with TMS software
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach with problem-solving abilities
  • Desirable: CPC qualification (not essential but advantageous)

Hours: Shifts between 6:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday AND 1 in 4 Saturdays/Sundays morning (Paid as Overtime)

Salary: £30,000 to £37,000 DOE
