Amour Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a Night Traffic Operator on behalf of our client, a long‑established and highly reputable logistics organisation based in Southampton
In this exciting role, you’ll support the night‑time transport operation, ensuring smooth coordination of vehicle movements, container collections, and overnight logistics activity. You’ll be a key point of contact for drivers, ports, depots and customers, while keeping systems accurate and operations fully compliant.

Responsibilities:
- Plan, route and schedule drivers and company vehicles to support efficient overnight operations
- Act as the main point of contact for drivers, providing support with operational queries or issues during the night
- Monitor vehicle movements, responding quickly to delays, breakdowns or operational changes
- Manage container movements to and from ports, depots and customer sites
- Oversee Vehicle Booking System (VBS) slot scheduling to maximise efficiency and avoid delays
- Liaise with ports, subcontractors, warehouse teams, and internal departments to ensure smooth operations
- Maintain accurate records and keep all transport management systems fully updated
- Ensure compliance with Drivers’ Hours Regulations, Tachograph Rules and the Working Time Directive
Requirements:
- Previous experience in transport, traffic operations or logistics coordination (essential)
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to make effective operational decisions
- Excellent communication skills with a calm and professional approach
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast‑moving logistics environment
- High attention to detail with accurate system and record‑keeping
- A proactive mindset with confidence managing real‑time issues and driver queries
Hours: Shift Pattern Between 16:00 - 01:30
Salary: £30,000 to £32,000 DOE
