Amour Recruitment are pleased to be recruiting for a Route Planner on behalf of our client based in Lancing, West Sussex.
In this varied role, you'll support a busy transport operation, supporting the daily planning of the logistics.
You'll need have great attention to detail, as this role focuses heavily on setting up the optimal routes, to reduce wastage and ensure a smoother service delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate daily transport routes and vehicle schedules.
- Allocate deliveries and collections to drivers to maximise efficiency.
- Monitor transport operations and resolve any routing or service issues.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal departments.
- Respond to operational challenges, including delays, breakdowns, and schedule changes.
- Support continuous improvements in route planning, fleet utilisation, and customer service.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in transport planning, routing, traffic operations, or logistics coordination.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence liaising with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
- Good geographical knowledge and the ability to optimise routes effectively.
- Proficient IT skills, including experience with transport management systems and Microsoft Office.
- Proactive problem-solving ability with a flexible approach to handling operational challenges.
Hours: 9:30-18:00 Monday to Friday
Salary: £33,000 rising to £35,000 after probation
