Operations Planning Supervisor - Portsmouth

Amour Recruitment is working exclusively for a local company who is seeking an experienced Operations Planning Supervisor to join their small but busy team!

If you have a solid background in hands-on planning and scheduling, with the confidence to support a busy operational team and keep work moving efficiently. Someone who brings energy, adaptability, and a proactive approach, with the ambition to build a meaningful career then this is the role for you!

Duties include:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day planning function, ensuring work is scheduled effectively and engineers have the correct information, documentation, equipment, and access arrangements to complete each job.
  • Supervising and supporting the planning team, helping to prioritise workloads, resolve day-to-day issues, and ensure planning tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Reviewing forward planning to identify potential bottlenecks in manpower, equipment, or operational capacity, and escalating concerns where required.
  • Approving proposals, cost calculations, and client invoicing following completion of works, ensuring accuracy and consistency before submission.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and stock control and organising accurate month-end stock reporting.
  • Supporting the development of planning processes, identifying improvements to systems, communication, workload management, and administrative efficiency.
  • Be part of the on-call rota providing out of hours customer and staff support.

Personal requirements:

  • Proactive and flexible approach - ability to adapt to change
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience of working in a similar role with an expert knowledge of MS Office and Outlook
  • Ability to take initiative, problem solve, and make decisions within job scope
  • Must be able to pass police security clearance

Hours: Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week (all office based, no remote working offered)

Salary: £40,000 -£43,000 (DOE)
