Amour Recruitment is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer to work for a fantastic company based in Portsmouth.
You will provide, oversee and execute the build, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning of infrastructure (compute, storage, network) in theirs and their clients build labs, data centres and office environments. The ideal candidate will lead by example, ensuring best practices in installations, patched, labelling, and asset tracking, while also taking a proactive approach to risk assessment and team management. This position requires a strong technical background, operational discipline, and proven leadership skills.
You will need to successfully pass BS7858:2012 and HMG SC vetting, so minimum of 5 years UK residency is a must and possess a clean driving licence with the flexibility to travel so again must hold a current passport.
Personal requirements:
- Previous of experience in data centre operations or infrastructure engineering is a must
- Strong understanding of commodity compute, storage, network and standard configurations, firmware, software and data centre best practices
- Experience managing RAMS and risk within critical environments.
- Knowledge in structured cabling standards (Cat6/6a/OM3/OM4, fibre, etc.).
- Familiarity with power and cooling systems, including PDU configurations and load balancing.
Hours: Monday to Friday 0900 -1730 with the ability to work out of hours, including nights and weekends. Any travel to client’s sites will be paid for.
Salary: £35,000
