Amour Recruitment are working with a leading Training provider for the UK.  They have a rare opportunity for a Sales Team Manager to join them.  

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated sales background and the ability to coach, nurture and lead a team of sales individuals.

Competitive basic salary circa £30K per annum with an OTE £42K per annum (after approx 1 year service and team at target)

The role

This Sales Team Manager is a key role at our client as it ensures the first point of contact with new clients is of a high professional standard and demonstrates the quality of their Apprenticeship & Work-based Learning Programmes.

The role involves managing an internal sales team to ensure they are being productive and effective. Identifying the right KPIs to drive performance and ensuring our people have the technical sales skills and product knowledge to succeed.

The ideal candidate is someone can fit into a unique and exciting business with excellent growth potential and a quirky sales operation and commission structure. They will be experienced in managing a tele-sales/internal sales team, ideally business to business and will demonstrate a proven track record of high performance.  They will have excellent call coaching and support skills, be able to motivate their team and be a trustworthy and honest person who will buy into our proven track record of ‘doing it our way’.

Specific responsibilities

  • Meeting Apprenticeship starts targets for England and/or Wales  
  • Ensuring Apprenticeship starts are effectively planned in line with business needs
  • Quality Management of the internal sales process
  • Monitoring of input and output levels of sales staff and taking action to improve performance where required
  • Carrying out 1-2-1s and performance management for the team and any other direct reports, including coaching and feedback.
  • Facilitating Management Huddles and motivational Buzz Sessions
  • Induction, Training and Development of internal sales team
  • Retention/Employee Reward & recognition for sales team
  • Participating in the recruitment process, including conducting 1st/2nd interviews where necessary
  • Improving Systems/Processes and Procedures
  • Presenting data and information at management level both pro-actively and reactively

Skills & experience required:

  • Managing a high performing outbound internal sales team
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Experience of managing in a target driven environment
  • Able to deliver internal sales training to a high standard
  • Well organised
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication at all levels
  • Be an active listener
  • Able to easily absorb, process and disseminate data and technical information
