Job Title: Extrusion Machine Setter

Job Location: Chichester

Job Type: Full-time

Shifts: 07:00 - 19:00

Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 depending on skills and experience 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Extrusion Machine Setter to join our manufacturing team. The Extrusion Machine Setter will be responsible for setting up and operating extrusion machinery to produce various plastic or metal products. The ideal candidate should have experience in machine operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance within an extrusion manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning down process of tooling (Dies/Pins/Formers plus Profiles) in the correct manner. 
  • Preparation of tooling (Dies/Pins/Formers plus Profiles) in the correct manner.
  • Storing of (Dies/Pins/Formers plus Profiles) in the correct manner.
  • Competent in all aspects of production paperwork
  • Setting the extrusion lines and ensuring that the machine is operating correctly for the product and quality requirements
  • Member of the production team supporting the extrusion manufacturing process  
  • Monitoring of Extrusion machines during operation
  • Product packing
  • Post extrusion work (e.g. Auto-saw/ Cross cut Saw)
  • Quality Inspections 
  • Monitoring hoppers
  • Tidying factoring (sweeping, cleaning)
  • Supporting other members of the production team when required 
  • Monitoring of safe systems at work and general maintenance conditions of machinery
  • Ensuring all company health and safety policies and procedures are fully complied with during the shift
  • Ensure the factory is left tidy at the end of the shift
  • Assisting with any other task requested by the supervisors, managers and directors including First Aid Training.

 Skills:

  • Proven experience as an Extrusion Machine Setter or similar role.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to adhere to them.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and machine control interface operation.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy materials.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work in shifts and adapt to changing production demands.
