Summary:

Our client is looking for a The Machine Operator Supervisor in the plastics industry to join their team. This a leadership role responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of machine operators in a plastics manufacturing or processing facility. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of plastic molding, extrusion, or other plastic processing machines. The Machine Operator Supervisor is responsible for monitoring production processes, maintaining quality standards, ensuring safety compliance, and providing guidance and training to machine operators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and monitor the operation of plastic processing machines, ensuring they run efficiently and meet production targets.
  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that products meet the required specifications and adhere to quality standards.
  • Provide training and guidance to machine operators to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively and safely.
  • Promote and enforce safety guidelines and protocols to create a safe work environment for all machine operators and other personnel.
  • Assist machine operators in diagnosing and resolving issues with equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient production flow.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule and perform preventive maintenance and repairs on plastic processing machines.
  • Collaborate with production planners and management to optimize production schedules and ensure adequate staffing for smooth operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of production output, machine performance, and other relevant data to facilitate analysis and decision-making.
  •  Identify areas for process improvement and implement measures to enhance machine efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
  • Motivate and lead the machine operator team, fostering a positive work environment, and addressing any performance or personnel issues.

Skills:

  • Proven experience as a machine operator in the plastics industry, with some experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of plastics processing machines, such as injection molding machines, extruders, blow molding machines, or thermoforming equipment.
  • Understanding of plastics materials and their properties, as well as knowledge of processing parameters and adjustments.
  • Familiarity with quality control procedures and the ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to address machine-related issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead and train machine operators.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
