The role of a warehouse supervisor is to ensure smooth running of all warehouse functions, maintaining standards and meeting company objectives, in an efficient
and professional manner, to ensure our client meets its customers’ expectations. To ensure colleagues are ably supported and trained to carry out their
respective duties. To create an inclusive work environment, where all team members feel equally valued and respected.
- Ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
- Maintain a safe working environment at all times and ensure health and safety practices are adhered to. Being proactive in highlighting where Health & Safety can be improved
- Ensure relevant team members are trained in the correct use of equipment / machinery
- Ensure all hygiene practices are maintained throughout the working day
- Maintain company GMP
- Maintain a food safe working environment
- Ensure all allergen controls are maintained
- Maintain quality standards by following company procedures
- Liaise with other Team Leaders / Supervisors / Managers on a daily basis to plan how the day is to be achieved
- Mentor and train Warehouse Assistants and Warehouse Operatives to enable them to effectively carry out their roles
- Designate work for junior members of the team
- Ensure allergen controls are maintained
- Ensure stock control and traceability is maintained at all times
- Take a leading role in quality control
- Liaise with the management team to minimise team issues and resolve any conflict
Key Tasks:
- All duties as per Warehouse Assistant and Warehouse Operative
- Ensuring product is stored, picked and out-loaded correctly
- Ensuring temperature records are maintained at all times
- Ensuring all finished goods and packaging materials are stored in the correct manner
- Ensuring stock control of finished goods is maintained at all times
- Ensuring stock control of packaging materials is maintained at all times
- Creating picking lists, load sheets and delivery notes, using computerised system
- Accurate picking and palletising of goods, ready for despatch
- Maintaining quality standards by following company procedures
- Following computer systems to ensure traceability is maintained on goods in and out
- Ensuring daily & weekly paperwork is completed correctly
- Liaising with hauliers, to ensure goods are collected on time to meet customer’s expectations
- Managing waste removal to keep site tidy
- Supervising any junior staff working on site, to ensure adherence to company policies
- Ensuring sites and work areas are clean and tidy at all times
