Our client located in the Fareham area is looking for a Purchasing Assistant to work within their established Procurement Team.
You will play a key role in assisting both the Supply Chain Manager and the Senior Buyer in their everyday responsibilities to ensure that supplies arrive on time and on budget to the Production facility.
- Although no formal experience in purchasing is required for the position but it would be advantageous for the candidate to have gained 1+ year of professional experience and have some exposure to a manufacturing environment.
- Preferably applicants will have some previous experience of working within an administrative role.
- Have a working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
- Be able to undertake projects to achieve cost reductions and continuously strive for improvements within the purchasing process and current working practices.
- Be a bright, driven individual looking to further their career in a rapidly expanding, successful and established company.
Duties Include:
- To assist in processing of suppliers invoices as, and when required.
- To fulfil any administrative functions within the department.
- To assist the Senior Buyer in the progressing of outstanding or late Purchase Orders.
- To answer external telephone calls and redirect or take messages as required.
Full Time, Permanent
Salary - £20,000 to £25,000
