Basic salary: £10,800 - £13,800
Hours: 9am - 4.30pm 3 days per week
Location: South Wales
 
This role requires an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic Tutor to become part of the training team. To provide a learning and employability framework to Adult learners, ensuring the attainment of positive outcomes through the delivery of training.  Providing support to unemployed adults to gain and sustain employment through improving their employability skills.  Age range 16-18 years old.
 
Specific Duties:
  • Conduct initial interviews including assessment activities with learners using a range of tools
  • Plan the learning and assessment process with learners, observing and recording assessments, completing all relevant documentation.
  • Working with the learner referral team in the development of individual employability plans for all new starters on programme.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records including the ‘individual employability plan’ to the minimum required standards.
  • Deliver taught sessions which include direct teaching and the use of a variety of teaching strategies / methodologies
  • Develop and deliver employer specific training combined with work preparation and vocational skills training, alongside essential skills provision, as required.
  • Develop and utilise lesson plans for each taught session incorporating topics relating to whole class teaching, individual, paired, group and differentiated activities
  • Provide focused support to those learners who are pre-entry level, or may have specific learning needs
  • Achieve appropriate qualifications in a timely manner
  • Working closely with the centralised sales teams to identify job opportunities
  • Completion of all training and learner related documentation and paperwork to ensure correct content and accuracy, including monthly reviews of progress.  
  • Maintaining good working relationships with all key stakeholders
  • Promote the company at every opportunity with all stakeholders including learners and employers.
  • To support all administration duties as required including contacting learners who fail to attend placements or centre training, tracking attendance.
  • Maintain knowledge and adherence to Work Based Learning Professional Standards, Education Workforce Code of Practice and company’s Code of Conduct

Essential:
  • Qualified or with the potential and willingness to work towards
  • ESW Communication / AON / ICT Level 2
  • CAVA qualification or equivalent qualification
  • Basic / Essential Skills 8375 Level 3 practitioners (or equivalent) qualification
  • Training experience and / or qualification
  • Experience of working with vulnerable adults.
  • Full driving license with the use of own vehicle
  • Experience of delivering Essential Skills
  • Good communication skills

Desirable:
  • PGCE / Relevant teacher/trainer qualification
  • ESW Level 2 ICT
  • City & Guilds 9300 Level 2 Award in Supporting Adults and Young People in Essential Skills
  • Level 5 practitioners Award
  • TAQA qualification or equivalent qualification
  • Experience of working with Vulnerable Adults
  • Full driving licence with use of own vehicle
