Amour Recruitment have an opportunity for a part time Payroll Officer to join our clients head office in Merthyr Tydfil.
The role will be to administer their employee and Head office pay. It will be the role of the Payroll Officer to pick up extra duties such as assisting with accounts when the Accounts Clerk is out of the office.
Payroll Officer responsibilities include calculating employees' pay, updating our internal employee database and ensuring timely weekly and monthly payments. To be successful in this role you should have a flare for numbers and be able to handle sensitive information in a professional manner. Experience with Sage Payroll is essential for this role.
22.5 hours per week (3 days per week), Salary £20K pro rata.
Responsibilities:
- Collect weekly bookings off bespoke system
- Liase with Account Managers to ensure all bookings and payments are correct
- Arrange to make any missed payments
- Prepare employees' pay by the end of each week using the Sage Payroll system
- Schedule bank payments directly to employees
- Ensure wages and tax with holdings comply with legislation
- Make sure all HMRC tax codes are correct and reported on
- Enter new employees' data (e.g bank accounts and tax identification numbers) into internal databases
- Respond to queries with regards to pension, tax, benefits and maternity pay
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a Payroll Officer, Payroll Clerk or similar role
- Hands on experience with SAGE and accounting software
- Strong maths skills with an ability to spot numerical errors
- Excellent communication skills
- Time management skills
- Customer service experience
