We are working with a key business in the Insurance market, who have been a trusted partner with Amour Recruitment for many years.  We have an opportunity for a Proactive Renewals Team Member to join their existing team, ensuring that customers get the best renewal quotes, business is retained as well as pro-actively speaking to customers prior to their term end dates.


Salary is £20k, plus a sales bonus and a company-wide bonus scheme.

This role is currently offered on a work from home basis due to Covid 19, however this business has great modern offices just outside of Cardiff.

The Role

  • Be responsible for accepting warm leads by email from Introducer Brokers and contacting clients via telephone in order to sell then a relevant insurance policy.
  • Also accept referrals from the Insurance Admin/Customer Service/Finance/Referral Management or Broker Support team(s) via internal telephone transfer or email and then contacting these clients via telephone in order to sell then a relevant insurance policy.
  • Deal with external calls from clients looking for an insurance quotation, make an amendment to their existing policy, make a payment, query their levels of cover, make a claim or cancel their policy.
  • Use your insurance knowledge and build an excellent rapport with all customers to ensure that they offer a competitive product that is fully suitable for the clients’ demands and needs.
  • Make outbound calls to existing clients whose policies are up for renewal to check that they have received their documents and that they are happy to renew their policy or have any queries relating to their policy.

Key Duties

  • Maximise the conversion of leads to new business by contacting clients at the appropriate time, within stipulated timescales and establishing their demands & needs while building an excellent rapport.
  • Liaise with insurers and internal Referral Management Team to ensure that all referrals are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide clients with a fully compliant household, let property or mortgage/income protection insurance quotation
  • Attempt to retain clients looking to cancel their policies by enquiring about the clients’ new quote/policy, discussing the benefits of using and staying with our client, explaining cover levels on their existing policy and offering an alternative quotation if available
  • Fully document the actions carried out on all policies & leads by way of notes. If replacing a policy or lead, ensure that they are linked together on internal systems
  • Use internal finance system in order to discuss any issues with a clients’ direct debit
  • Deal with non-standard queries/quotes and have the knowledge to know which insurers would be able to provide cover for these types of risks
  • Ensure knowledge is kept up to date on all insurers who make up the household, let property and mortgage/income protection insurance panels

Ideal experience

  • Excellent knowledge of the General Insurance (GI) market to include Household Insurance
  • Proven knowledge of Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulation, market trends and mortgage distribution
