Are you an experienced Finance Manager or fully qualified Accountant looking for a new challenge? Does the prospect of working for a dynamic, well-established company based in Central Cardiff appeal to you? Then we may have just the opportunity for you!

We are partnering with an innovative and environmentally conscious client who are currently looking to appoint a Finance Manager on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for ensuring the day to day operation of the busy Finance department runs smoothly, as well as making sure the monthly management accounts represent a true and fair view of the company position.


The Role:

  • Maintaining up to date accounting policies and procedures for the company to ensure accurate management information and a clean audit report
  • Ensuring a strong financial control framework exists for monitoring and mitigating risks
  • Reviewing the monthly management accounts including comparison against budget and providing commentary and variance analysis
  • Preparing the monthly board pack, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements
  • Preparing and reviewing the balance sheet reconciliation file and ensuring supporting information is available for every balance
  • Posting of any journals required to the Sage system as required in order to produce the aforementioned management accounts
  • Reviewing all divisional management reporting, offering suggestions for cost savings
  • Producing weekly cash flow forecasts
  • Approving supplier payments and cash collection of trade debtor balances
  • Actively looking for working capital management opportunities in line with working capital targets
  • Preparing quarterly VAT returns and submitting to HMRC
  • Managment, Development and Direction of the Finance Team - 2 direct reports
  • Preparing year-end financial statements in accordance with FRS102
  • Preparing audit information files and being a key contact for auditors and tax advisors
  • Assisting with the annual budget process and half yearly reforecasting
  • Optimising the full potential of Sage 200 Accounting package in conjunction with bespoke in-house software


Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant with at least 3 years PQE and strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Experience in preparing budgets within a multi-disciplined conglomerate SME business
  • Experience of planning and managing the workload of a team
  • Knowledge and experience of working with SAGE 200
  • Previous experience within a Finance Manager role, ideally within the manufacturing sector
  • Proactive & flexible and willing to get 'stuck in' for the good of the team and company


This role is office based, Monday-Friday 0830-1700 and is paying £40,000-£45,000 dependent upon experience.
