BAR AND GRILL MANAGER
This is a very exciting opportunity to work for an up-market bar and grill in Caerphilly. My client is looking for an individual who can adapt quickly and provide structure and excitement for the existing team.
The manager will be responsible for the commercial success of the restaurant and bar. In this management position you would oversee the running of all aspects of the business, including front-of-house, staff recruitment, accounting, stock control, marketing and advertising the business.
Being a pub manager requires strong management, commercial, emotional and practical skills. You'll have to constantly adapt to ensure that the pub is profitable, pleasant and safe and that it is run in accordance with the law and ethical guidelines.
Responsibilities
In general, your duties will include:
- Interacting with customers (including serving food and drink) and ensuring that high standards of customer service are maintained
- Taking responsibility for pub safety and security, including recruiting and managing staff
- Making sure you comply with health and safety regulations
- Organising and advertising entertainment such as live music events, quizzes etc which may involve researching and recruiting talent
- Running and advertising promotions
- Collecting and acting on customer feedback to improve the overall running of the business
- Undertaking regular stock checks, placing orders with suppliers and restocking (which involves physical work)
- Ensuring regular maintenance of the premises, including cleaning and repairs
- Recruiting, training and managing staff, including leading meetings to update and motivate staff
- Monitoring profitability and performance to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded
- Full cellar management
- Managing bookings
- Admin responsibilities, eg- rotas, paperwork- filing
- Managing and sticking to budgets
- Carry out any other reasonable requests asked by owners

Salary
£25,000
Bonus scheme in operation for hitting targets
Working hours
Will vary Monday – Sunday between 11am-1am.
