ABOUT US

Who we are and how we began...

Founded in 2013, we are are a small, family orientated, dedicated and highly experienced team spanning two offices on the South Coast of England and Wales. We recruit both temporary and permanent roles within the Office and Professional; Engineering and Technical; and Industrial and Driving sectors.

Maxine, our founder, started her career in recruitment as a consultant in temporary work at a high street corporate company and was rapidly promoted to branch manager. It was when she left to join a regional owner-managed agency, to cover for a manager’s maternity leave, that Max’s career took off.

Once Max's colleague returned from maternity, the MD offered Max the opportunity to stay and set up a new Office & Professional division. Max says, “I worked relentlessly setting it up with my colleague, and together, we developed many enduring working relationships that remain today.”

Whilst running Office & Professional, Max spent two years working with the Industrial division at the agency; her role encompassed new business development, client management, staff development and mentor.

When the agency was sold, Max took the opportunity to join the new owners to set up a branch in Wales, also helping to develop a Commercial desk across a number of branches up and down the UK. It was at this point, Max decided to work for herself, and with a strong vision for a different way of working, she set up Amour.

Why Amour Recruitment

We pride ourselves in working hard to find the most suitable applicants for your company’s role, taking the stress out of recruitment so that you can focus on the day to day, doing what you do best. We will always work with integrity and respect, taking steps to learn and improve for both clients and customers. Living our company values is important to us and we are all accountable to make sure this happens.

Our name, Amour, is the French word for ‘love’. The name came into being when our founder Maxine Fitzgerald was talking to a marketing expert about what she should call her recruitment company. When she had finished telling him about why she wanted to start the business, he said, “It’s easy. It’s all about love. You love recruitment, you love people, you love processes and systems, you love challenge – it should be called Amour Recruitment. Which means Love Recruitment."
